Author Guidelines

1. Introduction

The VLUTE Journal of Science is the official academic journal of Vinh Long University of Technology Education, operating under Press License No. 31/GP-BVHTTDL issued by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on March 3, 2026. The Journal is responsible for editing, publishing, and disseminating scientific publications to support research, education, and the advancement of scientific knowledge.

The Journal is published quarterly in print format (19 cm × 27 cm, 120 pages per issue) and is continuously updated through its electronic edition as manuscripts successfully complete the peer-review process and are accepted for publication.

2. Manuscript Submission Requirements

2.1. General Requirements

Manuscripts submitted to the Journal must be original scientific research articles or review papers with academic value and must not have been published or simultaneously submitted to any other journal, conference proceeding, or publication.

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality, scientific integrity, and ethical compliance of their manuscripts. The Journal does not consider previously published works and does not return rejected manuscripts.

2.2. Manuscript Requirements

A manuscript submitted to the Journal should satisfy the following requirements:

- Address a clearly defined research problem and present original research findings or scholarly review results with academic or practical significance.
- Demonstrate scientific contributions through the identification of new issues, the development of novel methodologies, or the advancement of knowledge within the relevant discipline.
- Employ appropriate research methods that ensure scientific rigor, objectivity, and reproducibility.
- Present clear and reliable research results supported by appropriate analysis, discussion, and comparison with related studies.
- Include a conclusion that highlights the major contributions of the study and, where appropriate, proposes future research directions.

2.3. Manuscript Structure

a. Title (Vietnamese and English)
The title should be concise, informative, and accurately reflect the scope and content of the manuscript. The title should not exceed 20 words.

b. Author Information
Include the full name of each author, institutional affiliation, email address, and the contact information of the corresponding author. The corresponding author's email address should be clearly indicated.

c. Abstract (Vietnamese and English)
The abstract should briefly describe the research objectives, methodology, principal findings, and significance of the study. The abstract should contain approximately 100–150 words.

d. Keywords (Vietnamese and English)
Provide three to five keywords that represent the main topics of the manuscript and facilitate indexing and retrieval.

e. Introduction
The introduction should provide background information, a literature overview, the significance of the research problem, research objectives, methodology, and the scientific and practical relevance of the study.

f. Materials and/or Methods
This section should clearly describe the research subjects, scope, materials, datasets, methodologies, data collection procedures, analytical techniques, models, and tools employed. The description should be sufficiently detailed to allow verification or replication of the study.

g. Results and Discussion
Research findings should be presented systematically and logically using tables, figures, and illustrations where appropriate. Authors should analyze, compare, and discuss the findings in relation to previous studies while highlighting the scientific significance, practical implications, innovations, limitations, and possible explanations.

h. Conclusions
The conclusion should summarize the principal findings, emphasize the contributions of the study to theory and/or practice, and may include recommendations or directions for future research.

i. Appendices (if applicable)
Supplementary materials such as detailed datasets, formulas, models, questionnaires, software codes, or additional figures may be provided as appendices when necessary.

j. Author Contributions (if applicable)
Authors are encouraged to specify the contributions of each co-author and clearly identify the novel scientific contributions of the manuscript.

k. Conflict of Interest Statement
Authors must disclose any financial, personal, or institutional relationships that may influence the objectivity of the research. If no conflicts exist, authors should explicitly state: “The authors declare no conflict of interest.”

l. Acknowledgements (if applicable)
Authors may acknowledge financial support, technical assistance, data provision, or other contributions from organizations and individuals involved in the research.

m. References (Vancouver Style)
References must follow the Vancouver citation style and include only sources cited in the manuscript. References should be accurate, complete, and directly relevant to the study.

Authors are encouraged to cite recent literature published within the last five years whenever appropriate. Each manuscript should include at least seven references, preferably peer-reviewed journal articles, international publications, and references with DOI identifiers. Authors are also encouraged to cite relevant articles previously published in the VLUTE Journal of Science.

2.4. Manuscript Formatting

- Manuscripts should be 6–10 A4 pages in length and submitted in Microsoft Word format.
- Text should be formatted using Times New Roman, font size 12.
- Paragraph indentation should be 0.5 cm; single line spacing; spacing before and after paragraphs should be 3 pt.
- Margins should be 2 cm for the top, bottom, and left sides, and 2.5 cm for the right side.
- Mathematical equations should be prepared using MathType.
- Chemical formulas may be prepared using ACD/Chem Sketch or Science Helper for Word.
- Figures must be clear, high-resolution, sequentially numbered, and accompanied by captions placed below the figures.
- Tables must be clearly formatted, sequentially numbered, and accompanied by titles placed above the tables.
- Proper names and foreign-language terminology should be retained in their original form and not transliterated.

2.5. Submission Method

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the Journal's online submission system:

Authors are kindly requested to comply with all Journal regulations and submission requirements.

2.6. Citation and Reference Guidelines

All references must follow the Vancouver citation style and be presented accurately, consistently, and completely. Only sources cited within the manuscript should appear in the reference list, and all listed references must be cited in the manuscript.

Citation Principles

- References should be numbered consecutively according to their first appearance in the manuscript.
- The same reference number should be reused for subsequent citations of the same source.
- Citations should be indicated using square brackets, for example: [1], [2], [3].
- Multiple references should be cited in ascending numerical order, for example: [5], [8], [12].
- Page numbers may be included when necessary, for example: [15, pp. 314–315].
- All tables, figures, equations, and datasets adapted from other sources must clearly acknowledge the original source.

Types of Citations

- Direct citation: reproducing the exact wording of the original source, enclosed in quotation marks and accompanied by a citation.
- Indirect citation: paraphrasing or summarizing information from a source while preserving its original meaning and providing appropriate citation.
- Secondary citation: citing information reported in another source when the original source cannot be accessed; this practice should be minimized.

Reference List Requirements

- References must be arranged according to the order of citation in the manuscript.
- References in all languages should be listed together without language-based separation.
- Academic titles and professional designations should not be included in author names.
- DOI information must be provided whenever available.
- Authors are encouraged to cite peer-reviewed international publications and scholarly works indexed in reputable databases.
- The use of websites, textbooks, theses, dissertations, or non-peer-reviewed sources should be limited.

Authors must ensure consistency between in-text citations and the reference list. Manuscripts that do not comply with the Journal’s citation and referencing requirements may be returned for revision before entering the peer-review process.
